  • 1 cup granulated sugar Adjust sweetness based on apple variety.
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

For the topping

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Can substitute with gluten-free flour.
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, toss sliced apples with granulated sugar and cinnamon.
  • Pour the apple mixture into a baking dish.

Topping

  • In another bowl, mix rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, melted butter, and salt until crumbly.
  • Sprinkle the oat topping over the apples evenly.

Baking

  • Bake for 30-35 minutes until the topping is golden brown and the apples are bubbly.
  • Let it cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!

Notes

Best served warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. To store, let it cool completely, cover, and refrigerate for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in the oven before serving.
