Ingredients
  

For the Meatballs

  • 1 lb ground beef or pork You can also use ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs If the mixture is too wet, add a little more breadcrumbs.
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped Can garnish finished meatballs with additional green onions.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Adjust the amount to suit your taste.
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced Adjust the amount to suit your taste.
  • 1 large egg Act as a binder for the meatballs.
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce Pour over meatballs after placing in the Crockpot.
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, combine ground meat, breadcrumbs, green onions, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  • Roll the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.

Cooking

  • Place the meatballs in the Crockpot.
  • Pour hoisin sauce over the meatballs.
  • Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours or high for 2-3 hours.
  • Serve warm, garnished with additional green onions if desired.

Notes

Tips include combining the ingredients thoroughly for even flavor, adjusting garlic and ginger to taste, and adding red pepper flakes for extra spice. To store leftovers, let them cool before placing in an airtight container; refrigerate for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
