  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Ensure butter is softened, not melted.
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a small bowl, whisk together flour and baking soda.
  • In a large bowl, cream together butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt until smooth.
  • Beat in vanilla extract and eggs until well combined.
  • Gradually blend in the flour mixture.
  • Stir in chocolate chips.

Baking

  • Drop by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased baking sheets.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until edges are golden.
  • Let cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for about a week. For best flavor, serve warm with milk.
