  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour You can swap some for whole wheat flour for a healthier option.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips Use high-quality chocolate chips for the best flavor.

Topping

  • to taste Flaked sea salt Sprinkle on top while cookies are warm.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time.
  • In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture.
  • Stir in the chocolate chips.

Baking

  • Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.
  • Bake for 9-11 minutes or until the edges are golden.
  • Remove from the oven and sprinkle with flaked sea salt while warm.
  • Let cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

For extra indulgence, serve cookies warm with a glass of cold milk or a scoop of ice cream. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Freeze in a freezer-safe bag for about 3 months.
