Football Cupcakes
These fun football cupcakes are perfect for game day celebrations, decorated to resemble a football field and sure to delight your guests.
Ingredients
For the Cupcakes
- 1 box chocolate cake mix
- 1 can green frosting
- 1 can white frosting
- as needed mini football candy or chocolate chips For decoration
- as needed cupcake liners To hold the batter
- as needed piping bags For decorating
Instructions
Preparation
- Preheat your oven according to the cake mix instructions.
- Prepare the cupcake pan with cupcake liners.
- Mix the cake batter as directed on the cake mix box.
- Pour the batter into the cupcake liners, filling them about 2/3 full.
- Bake in the preheated oven for the time recommended (usually 18-22 minutes).
- Once baked, let the cupcakes cool completely.
Decoration
- Using the green frosting, frost the top of each cupcake to resemble a field.
- With the white frosting in a piping bag, add lines and patterns on the green frosting to look like a football field.
- Use the mini football candy or chocolate chips to decorate the field.
Notes
For easier decorating, use store-bought frosting instead of homemade. Experiment with colors and flavors to match your team. Use a toothpick to write names on the cupcakes for a fun twist. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for 2-3 days or freeze for up to a month.
