Ingredients

Chicken and Fries

  • 4 pieces chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil for chicken marinade
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 4 pieces pita breads
  • 2 cups French fries frozen or homemade

Tzatziki Sauce

  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 piece cucumber, grated and drained
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) for the fries if using frozen.
  • In a bowl, mix olive oil, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Coat the chicken breasts in this mixture.

Cooking

  • In a skillet, heat some olive oil over medium heat and cook the chicken for about 6-8 minutes on each side until fully cooked. Alternatively, you can grill the chicken until done.
  • While the chicken is cooking, prepare the fries according to the package instructions or bake your homemade fries in the oven.

Making Tzatziki Sauce

  • Combine Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Mix well and set aside.

Serving

  • Once the chicken is done, slice it and serve it on warm pita bread with tzatziki sauce and fries on the side.

Notes

Marinate the chicken ahead of time for even more flavor. To make a healthier version, use grilled chicken instead of pan-fried. For a thicker tzatziki, let it sit in the fridge for a while before serving.
