Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound Smoked sausage
  • 1/4 cup Maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup BBQ sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  • Cut the smoked sausage into bite-sized Hasselback sections without cutting all the way through.
  • In a bowl, mix maple syrup and BBQ sauce together.
  • Brush the sausage with olive oil, and season it with salt and pepper.
  • Coat the cut sections with the maple BBQ mixture.

Cooking

  • Place the sausages in the air fryer basket and cook for 10-12 minutes, until they are charred.
  • If using the oven, preheat it to 400°F (200°C) and bake for 15-20 minutes, basting halfway through.

Notes

For extra crunch, try cooking them a little longer in the air fryer. Experiment with different flavors of BBQ sauce for variety. Ensure to cut the sausage deep enough for flavor while not cutting all the way through.
