Ingredients
  

Dough Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet instant yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 3/4 cup warm water (about 110°F)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Topping Ingredients

  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • to taste favorite toppings (pepperoni, mushrooms, bell peppers, etc.)

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, mix the flour, yeast, salt, and sugar together.
  • Add the warm water and olive oil to the dry ingredients. Mix until it forms a dough.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean cloth, and let it rise for about 1 hour or until it has doubled in size.

Baking

  • Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
  • Roll out the dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
  • Place the rolled-out dough on a pizza stone or baking sheet.
  • Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough.
  • Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese on top, followed by your favorite toppings.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
  • Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing.

Notes

Serve the pizza hot out of the oven. Add crushed red pepper or grated parmesan on top if desired. Pizza is best enjoyed fresh but can be served with a side salad or garlic bread. To store leftovers, let the pizza cool completely and place it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. You can also freeze pizza slices by wrapping them in foil and placing them in a freezer bag for up to 3 months.
