  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Topping

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, mix sliced apples with granulated sugar, lemon juice, and cinnamon. Spread evenly in a baking dish.
  • In a separate bowl, combine rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, and softened butter until crumbly.
  • Sprinkle the oat mixture over the apples.

Baking

  • Bake for 30-40 minutes or until the topping is golden and the apples are tender.

Notes

Serve warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. For best results, use a mix of sweet and tart apples. Can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days and frozen for up to 2 months.
